Easter Day Prayer
Lord, you have risen. Hallelujah.
You showed the world that your light cannot be extinguished.
The darkness cannot hold you.
I rejoice and sing of your glory.
I rejoice at your living presence.
I rejoice that you are beside me whatever happens in my life.
Hallelujah Lord! Hallelujah
Your resurrection gives me the hope that I depend on.
It provides me with the certain knowledge that I have life eternal because I trust in you.
It enables me to know that, if I do things wrong or not as you had wanted me to do,
I can express my sorrow and I will be forgiven and my account with you wiped clean.
On this Easter Day I come in prayer to you.
I come in need of your presence perhaps more than I have ever needed your help before.
I come feeling your love and protection.
I come feeling your strength and guidance.
I come feeling your grace and mercy.
I come feeling your wisdom and courage.
I come knowing your company as my friend and my redeemer.
I come to you with all my human frailties.
I come with my worries and with my anxieties.
I come with my hopes and my aspirations.
I come with my trust in your light that burns brightly in my world.
A light that is the vibrant focus of my daily life.
You Lord mean more to me than I can express in words.
You are with me in my first thought in the morning.
You are with me as I rest my mind, body and soul at the end of the day.
You see and hear everything that happens in my life, nothing is hidden from you.
Draw closer to me and energise and inspire my thoughts, my words and my actions.
Be the challenging force that I need which tugs at my heart and encourages me to give more than I feel I can provide.
Help my life with you reflect your eternal and amazing presence in my world.
Help me through the good and bad times of my life.
Make my life always be an offering and a sacrifice worthy of the unique and incredible care, love and friendship that you provide for me each day.
