THE CHURCH SEEKING TO BE AT THE HEART OF THE COMMUNITY
Kingsleigh Church is situated in the middle of Leigh opposite the main bus station and shopping area. This central position has both possibilities and problems. The greatest opportunity is for mission and evangelism with the general public passing to and fro.
At Kingsleigh there are coffee mornings in Church on Thursday and Friday mornings with occasional special Coffee Mornings on a Saturday.
The Trussell Trust holds the Leigh Food Bank in Kingsleigh Church on Monday and Tuesday mornings which is a huge resource for the needy people of Leigh and is very convenient for all concerned. It is manned by dedicated volunteers from the local area.
Adjacent to the Church is the Community Centre which is hired out to several Community Groups including Monday Club, Lasars, Parkinson's Support Group, Crossroads, Young Carers, Wrinkles & Dimples, Slimming World and Kingsleigh's Indoor Bowling Club and Brownie group.
The Community Centre has greatly benefited with refurbishment via a grant from the Leigh Neighbourhood Project. A welcome is extended to the local community to join in the various activities taking place in the Centre.
